Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring into the king’s service some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility—  young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians (Daniel 1:3-4 NIV).

The King ordered the chief to bring young men into the king’s service, that not only came from the royal

3. Showing aptitude for every kind of learning: they were knowledgeable and willing to learn any kind of work.

4. Well informed: they were wise, intelligent and they knew how to apply knowledge.

5. Quick to understand: they had character and they knew how to make right decisions in spite of the consequences.

6. Qualified to serve in the King’s palace: they knew how to serve God and men.

Keeping a healthy life especially physically can open great doors to opportunities that would have been closed if we were sick or did not have enough energy.

Let’s take care of our body because it will help us accomplish God’s purpose every day. Let’s seek knowledge and keep the attitude of an apprentice throughout our whole life; because it will open doors that will bring blessings to us and to those who surround us.

Think about it:

  • What qualities that prophet Daniel had have opened doors in your life?
  • What habits can you incorporate in your daily life that will help you see better results?
