Giving Like God

GIVING LIKE GOD

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. 28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you”— when you already have it with you (Proverbs 3:27-28 NIV).

Can it be that our attitude towards giving is imperative in order to reach success? Can it be true that Paul was right when he said it is better to give than to receive? Acts 20:35 NIV

We were made in God’s image and likeness; which means that we are like Him in character and in our way of being. This is why, though we do not understand it very well, we feel whole when we do an act of kindness and generosity; but our conscience rebukes us when we act meanly or take advantage of others.

We feel better when we give someone a ride than when we ask for one; and when we give an offering than when we are begging others to help us with money.

This is because our Heavenly Father’s nature is to give and we were made to be like Him. Now it makes sense when the Bible says, “God gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish…” (John 3:16 NIV).

Today, let’s seek an opportunity to give according to what we can give. You will be surprised at the number of ways you will find to “give back” to this world.

Also, I remind you that if you do this with a good attitude and with the right motivations, you will be activating the law of sowing and reaping. Prepare yourself to receive the harvest from all of the seeds you have sown each day you; because “everything” that man (or woman) sows that they will also reap (Galatians 6:7 NIV).

Think about it:

What can you do today to give back or give something to those who surround you?
What has been produced in you when you have helped someone in need?
