Open, overcome, and listen

OPEN, OVERCOME, AND LISTEN

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends” (Revelation 3:20 NLT).

The Lord will not return to earth until everybody has had the opportunity to know Him. The decision is up to us, we decide to walk with Him or not. Today in faith for your day, I want to share three steps that take place during our process of walking with God.

First, we open our heart to Christ and begin a new lifestyle with purpose, vision, and joy because we are finally safe in God’s companionship in our life.

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends” (Revelation 3:20 NLT).

Second, we freely receive salvation in an instant, but obtaining the victory is a process in which we must fight to mature and keep our convictions. Therefore, being saved is something that happens immediately, but becoming overcomers is a process.

“Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne” (Revelation 3:21 NLT).

We must persevere in integrity, even if we are not popular. We must fight for what is good, and complete the race of life so that we are called true overcomers just as the Bible says:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful” (2 Timothy 4:7 NLT).

Third, everyone decides what to listen to and what to obey. We have the choice to listen to the common voice of the world system or to listen to God’s voice and live accordantly to His direction. Just as I mentioned before, accepting Christ in our heart and receiving salvation is something that happens quickly, but the eternal victory is a process that requires perseverance.

Do not be discouraged neither give up on the Lord’s calling. It is not easy, but the reward at the end is worth the fight. Endure the process of victory, because He already declared you are an overcomer.

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends” (Revelation 3:20 NLT).

Think about it:
Have you truly opened your heart to God?
What are you struggling with that is time to overcome?
What do you need to listen to that you have been ignoring?
