THE POWER OF CONVICTION AND DETERMINATION
The power of determination and conviction is what keeps us looking forward and not looking back. The Bible says very clearly, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62 NLT).
It is easy to be people who put their hand to the plow and then look back. It is easy to be committed today, but to lack commitment tomorrow. It is easy to speak what God’s Word says, but it is something else to live what it says.
Today in faith for your day, I want to talk about the power of determination and conviction. These two qualities are the pillars that will help us remain faithful and committed to God until the end.
Conviction is to firmly believe in something without giving doubt a foothold.
According to the dictionary, conviction is to have “security of the truth and surety of what one thinks or feels” and the Bible says that:
When you have a conviction inside of you there is nobody nor anything that can stand against you. In our walk with God it is crucial that we be people with strong convictions, for this is what will help us overcome all obstacles in life.
Secondly, it is important to be determined. Determination is to have the power of decision and to take action. In other words, it is to be someone who has a strong will when it comes to achieving a goal at any cost. Only those who are audacious have the power to be and to do everything that God has destined them to be and to do.
The great projects in life require determination. Those who are successful are those who put their hand to the plow and do not look back. The person who goes into their marriage thinking, “Well, I am going to see if this works out” has already failed and is not fit for marriage, because they do not have the determination to be successful; therefore, at any moment they will “look back”.
Those who reach God’s promises for their life are those who continue to move forward despite the setbacks and they believe God’s Word with determination; thus, they harvest blessings and success in life.
Maintain a good heart despite the goals and the problems. The person who has a good heart will remain and they will not look back during the process of growth due to their conviction and determination.
Think about it:
What kind of person do you want to be?
Are you looking back or are you looking forward? Why?
What motivates you to move forward?
