A HEART TRANSPLANT IS REQUIRED
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38 NIV).
This is a wonderful verse but frequently applied incorrectly and misunderstood.
One of the most common mistakes people make regarding this verse is to suppose that Jesus is only speaking about money.
In reality, he is revealing a principle that can be applied in any area of our life.
We can better understand what Jesus was referring to if we examine the context of this verse. For example, lets rewind a bit and read verses 36 and 37.
“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. 37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven, give and it will be given to you… (Luke 6:36-37 NIV).
Understanding this, to be able to receive abundance in not only money, but compassion, comprehension, mercy, love, etc. We must also give all these things just as we receive them.In conclusion, everything you sow you reap.
(Chapt. 6 book “A blessed life”).
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (Luke 6:38 NIV)
Think about it:
In what area do you need abundance? What do you need to work on to receive the same?
Is there a person you need to extend forgiveness and compassion to? Have you harshly judged someone?
