Compassion draws people closer

COMPASSION DRAWS PEOPLE CLOSER

“‘… While he was preaching God’s word to them, four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat… so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus’” (Mark 2:2-4 NLT).

God wants to transform people’s lives, but he needs your help. How? He needs you to come closer to your family, friends, coworkers, etc. so that they have an encounter with the Lord.

We must learn to have compassion, not just passion. You might have a lot of passion for soccer, your career, or your personal goal, but you must have compassion for people. You must have a passion to see God’s glory manifest miracles, signs, and wonders.

The paralytic man was healed by Jesus because his friend had compassion for him. If his Friends wouldn’t have dug a hole through the roof, then he wouldn’t have had a supernatural encounter with God. Maybe, you long to see your family and friends saved, but you still haven’t drawn them closer to God or church.

Jesus needs you to give him your body so that he can use it. Many times, we are very interested in everything else but people. It is human nature to seek personal benefits and to be selfish, but you and I cannot rob our friends and family the opportunity to know Jesus.

Everything on planet earth is temporary, the only eternal beings are God and people. Today, I want to encourage you to have compassion for people and that you let yourself be used by Jesus.

“‘… While he was preaching God’s word to them, four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat… so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus’” (Mark 2:2-4 NLT).

Think about it:

How can you show someone compassion today?
Who is that person you know who needs compassion?
