Move away from distractions

MOVE AWAY FROM DISTRACTIONS

“… being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”. (Philippians 1:6 NIV).

Distractions are very sneaky, and we almost always never realize we are being distracted by something. A distraction can be a person, place or thing. The purpose of a distraction is to delay God’s plan for your life.

Distractions intensify when you have lost the conviction of your identity, calling, or assignment. This is why you must be convinced that God has not finished the good work He started in you. The Lord is perfecting something big inside of you that will bless other people who surround you.

Do you know when distractions tend to come? When you’re the closest to your breakthrough. Let me put it this way, have you ever ran a mile or a few miles? Well, when you’re running and you’re about to finish your last lap, you start to want to give up, because you’re tired. However, it is during the last lap that you need to give your all to finish with power.

While you’re running you feel your muscles burning, you feel your chest hurting a little, your heart is racing, your legs are shaking, and you’re breathing heavily, but you can’t pay attention to all this or else you’ll get distracted from finishing with power.

What am I telling you? Distractions wear you down and they stop you from finishing the last lap that’ll get you to your breakthrough. Just as a detour is made on the highway due to construction, the enemy also makes a detour in your path to divert you from God’s way. Watch out!

Today, stay alert and identify any distractions that are trying to wear you down or delay the fulfillment of your purpose in life. Hold on to God because He will finish the good work he has begun in you.

“… being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6 NIV).

Think about it:

Is there a distraction or distractions that are trying to stop you from fulfilling your purpose?
Do you feel tired as if you have invested your strength in things that do not lead you to your purpose? What distractions do you need to eliminate?
