Why do distractions happen?

WHY DO DISTRACTIONS HAPPEN?

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrew 12:2 NIV).

The purpose of distractions is to wear you down so that you do not endure the race before you. You know, the devil wanted to wear down Jesus through offense. He tried to divert Jesus from fulfilling his assignment on earth, which was to die for humanity so that we would have eternal life with God.

When Jesus was on his way to the cross, he didn’t see the cross nor the offense, instead he saw you and me through it all. His focus was not distorted by the darts the enemy was throwing against him—no. His mind was complete made up and he was willing to endure the cross that you and I deserved. He did this because he wanted us to enter into the joy of the Lord.

The offense and suffering we endure in life want to divert you. However, you must learn to discern these distractions and see the blessing through the criticism, through rejection, and through discouragement. You have to go through different circumstances, whether they’re difficult or not to get to your destiny.

Satan wants to wear you down so that you do not go to the cross. You must die to your selfishness to obtain the blessing that is on the other side. Jesus did not allow himself to be distracted by the cross that was in front of him, instead his focus was intensified as he remembered his purpose in God.

Today, remember your purpose in God, remember that your time on earth is short; therefore, intensify your focus and live every day as if it were your last. You’re not alone, God is always with you and He is the eternal joy that awaits you on the other side of the cross.

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrew 12:2 NIV).

Think about it:
What does the cross represent?
Have you written your purpose down to remind yourself of it every day? Do it if you haven’t yet.
