BE LIKE A CHILD? YESO NO?
PART TWO: IT’S BETTER TO BE A CHILD
…For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it». (Mark 10:14-15 NLT)
There are certain risks in maturing and growing. One of them is that we lose our innocence.
Seeing the evil around us, we become distrustful, selfish, suspect the motivations of others, and sometimes we become insensitive. Tenderness is lost and the capacity to feel and express love with our emotions dull. After all, we learned that we should “mature” and not be children.
Reflecting on this, I believe that the Bible tells us that
“Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults” (1 Corinthians 14:20).
I think we must mature and control destructive emotions, but also return to being like children in our noble emotions.
We must once again have the capacity to “feel”, to be sensitive to the needs of others, to love others, show empathy, express words of affection respectfully, embrace, and to coexist with others innocently without double agendas.
… «Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God
Think about it:
How long has it been since you shared quality time with others? When was the last time you cried with others who were having a sad situation in their life? To whom do you think you need to show love and give words of affirmation today?
