Complaints are a result of stubborness

COMPLAINTS ARE A RESULT OF STUBBORNESS

“But no, my people wouldn’t listen. Israel did not want me around. So I let them follow their own stubborn desires, living according to their own ideas.” (Psalms 81:11-12 NLT).

God speaks to us and tells us what we need to do to do well in life. He describes the plans for good and prosperity that he has for us and then gives us the steps to follow and achieve them. But we are the ones who decide to trust his instructions or not, as you and I have the freedom to obey or not.

Many times, people complain about problems that were totally preventable. They had received warnings about it but decided to ignore the advice and pay the consequences. It’s not worth complaining about in these cases.

For example, parents say to their daughters: “Don’t get married yet, finish school first. Don’t be that drunk man’s girlfriend, drug addict, who’s looking for lawsuits, who doesn’t like to work. ” But the obsessed woman decides to ignore the advice of her parents, even the advice of God, follows her stubborn desires and pays the harsh consequences.

It’s easier to obey God. Let’s not be stubborn.Lord, I don’t want to be stubborn, don’t abandon me to my own ideas. I want to do your will. Show me where I must go, because I have trusted in you. Teach me to do your will, because you are my God. May your good spirit guide me to live with righteousness. (Paraphrase of Psalms 143:8-10).

But no, my people wouldn’t listen.Israel did not want me around. So I let them follow their own stubborn desires, living according to their own ideas (Psalms 81:11-12 NLT).

Think about it:

What consequences did you pay in the past for not obeying God? Are you about to make a crucial decision in your life? Have you already asked God for direction? Has God spoken to you through someone to make changes and you haven’t wanted to listen?
