LIFE IS SHORT, AND I SHOULD LIVE WITH PURPOSE
“Remember how short my life is, how empty and futile this human existence! No one can live forever; all will die. No one can escape the power of the grave” (Psalms 89:47-48 NLT).
Life is so short! It seems to me that time passes faster as I get older and as the ministerial vision is getting bigger. Before I counted days or weeks, now it seems that I count years. Before Dinora and I used to say: “How fast the week went by”; now we usually talk and say: the year went by so fast!.
“Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” (Psalms 90:12)
That is why I must live with a clear purpose. I must decide who I will serve, what I will dedicate to, what will I do with my life.
I can’t do all the things I wish to do. I don’t have time to do things that people wish for me to do, I can’t please everyone, I only have time to do that which God has called me for.
I can’t do anything in the tomb, that’s why I must live focused on doing his will (Psalms 40:8; Psalms 143:10) so that God can prosper all that I do.
And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful! (Psalms 90:17 NLT).
“Remember how short my life is, how empty and futile this human existence! No one can live forever; all will die. No one can escape the power of the grave” (Psalms 89:47-48 NLT)
Think about it:
Life is short, what are you living for? What significant thing are you doing this year? What will you do the next decade that makes a difference in your life? What does God want you to do? Are you trying to please people or God with what you do?
