Temporary can never satisfy the eternal

TEMPORARY CAN NEVER SATISFY THE ETERNAL

“Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content” (Ecclesiastes 1:8 NLT)

When we have no satisfaction or peace in us, even if we have good material possessions, it can be a sign that we are empty inside.

We are spiritual beings. The material part of us will only fill up with the material, but the spiritual will only be filled with the spiritual.

We are eternal beings, and the eternal can only be satisfied with someone eternal. (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

The material can’t necessarily give us the spiritual, but the spiritual also brings us the material blessing. Without God there is no contentment, but if we have God, he gives us the riches without causing sadness. (Prov. 10:22)
Someone already tried it, and discovered that in the end nothing  fulfilled them. (Prov. 2:4-11)

“Anything I wanted, I would take. I denied myself no pleasure. I even found great pleasure in hard work, a reward for all my labors. 11 But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless—like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere” (Ecclesiastes 2:10-11 NLT).

Lord, fill with your presence the part of me that is eternal. You are my contentment, satisfaction, peace, joy, reason, source, Father, Lord, my Savior and my everything.

Think about it:

With what things, or people, were you trying to fill the voids of your heart?
What was the most important thing in your life before God? What change do you have to make, understanding that He must be the first thing so that you feel full and the additions come to your life?
