May my heart always burn

MAY MY HEART ALWAYS BURN

They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32 NLT)

Lord, I want my heart to never stop burning for you as it did in the beginning.

Burning speaks of passion. When the heart burns for something, it means that it has a passion for that something.

I see people whose hearts burn for some sport, an artist, for a woman or money.

There are those whose heart burns when they go to their favorite artist’s concert.

A woman’s heart burns when she’s on her way to a date with her boyfriend whom she suspects will propose.

A man’s heart burns when he speaks to the woman he loves.

There are men whose heart’s burn when they are watching their favorites soccer team play their final game. They do strange things such as shout, laugh, jump, clap, etc. They are known as soccer fanatics. They are passionate and their hearts burn.

In the same way, our hearts should burn for God. We should be passionate for God, for reading Scripture, and serving God in our church.

Lord, I want my heart to never stop burning every time I sing at church on Sunday, when I serve others, when I pray and seek your presence, read your Word, etc.

I want my heart to burn with passion at the thought of fulfilling your purpose in my life.

May my heart always burn as it did in the beginning. (2 Timothy 1:6)

Pidámosle a Dios en oración que nos ponga hambre y sed por Su Presencia para no perder esa pasión por Él y por servirle. Let’s ask God in prayer to put a hunger and thirst for his presence in us, and to not lose that passion for Him and for serving Him.

They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32 NLT)

Think about it:

Is there something you used to do for God with passion, but now your heart doesn’t burn at doing it?

Why do you think that fire went out?

What can you do to reignite it?
