Characteristics of the carnal flesh that we should avoid

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CARNAL FLESH THAT WE SHOULD AVOID

These people are grumblers and complainers, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want.(Judas 1:16)

It’s to neglect our prayer life or to associate with rebellious people with the following characteristics:

1. Those who talk back and are argumentative. They always need to have the last word. They are always correct.

2. Whiners
They have a negative attitude. They always see the glass of water “half empty” instead of half full. They always use a language of defeat. They use a lot the words “but”, “what if”, “you can’t”

3.Those who are focused on themselves.

They live only to satisfy their wishes. First me, then me and finally me.
There are so many people focused on their comfort, their tastes, their “me”
Where is the concept of “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me? Where are the leaders who are willing to die to self, to die to praise and criticism, to die to comfort and convenience?

4. Attention Seekers.
They talk too much or just tell jokes. They are exaggerated, when speaking they emphasize their greatness. They don’t know how to listen, they talk a lot and they hear very little.
5. They cause divisions in the family, church, work, etc. because they are people who move because of their carnal instincts and carnal passions. (Jude 1: 18-19)

Look what the bible says about these kinds of people:

When these people eat with you in your fellowship meals commemorating the Lord’s love, they are like dangerous reefs that can shipwreck you. They are like shameless shepherds who care only for themselves. They are like clouds blowing over the land without giving any rain. They are like trees in autumn that are doubly dead, for they bear no fruit and have been pulled up by the roots. 13 They are like wild waves of the sea, churning up the foam of their shameful deeds. They are like wandering stars, doomed forever to blackest darkness.. (Judas 1:12-13 NLT)

That is why it is necessary that we keep ourselves in prayer and filled with the Holy Spirit to remain in the love of God and not become involved with this type of people or become this type of person.

But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.. (Judas 1:20-21 NLT)

Think about it:

What kind of people do you relate to?
Have you neglected your prayer life?
If you have noticed any of these characteristics in you, what can you do to change them?
