Obedient, wise, and childlike

OBEDIENT, WISE, AND CHILDLIKE

But everyone knows that you are obedient to the Lord. This makes me very happy. I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong. (Romans 16:19 NLT)

1. People notice something different in us when we are obedient. There are things, such as absence of rebellion and a good-hearted spirit that bring blessings and peace. In contrast, we observe many problems associated with rebellion in people who struggle with obedience: jail, criminal records, job losses, lack of peace, and cynicism.
Obeying God’s commandments is wise.

2. We should be wise to do everything that is good.  If we want to do what is good, it is necessary to have divine wisdom. If you do not have it, ask God for it in prayer.

3. We should be childlike.
There are occasions when it benefits us to be childlike. Wisdom consists of being childlike when it comes to malice, but we should also be mature in our way of thinking.

But everyone knows that you are obedient to the Lord. This makes me very happy. I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong. (Romans 16:19 NLT)

It is beneficial to us to follow God’s instructions for our lives. So, let’s ask the Holy Spirit to put in us not only the want, but to actually be obedient to him, and that he gives us wisdom and purifies our minds of all malice.

Think about it:

Do you know what pleases God and what doesn’t?
In what way do you think it benefits you to obey God?
Do you follow God’s advice or other people’s advice when you need to make a decision?
