YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL WHEN GOD IS WITH YOU
The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master. (Genesis 39:2 NLT)
True success is achieved when we continually fulfill God’s purpose in our lives. What do we need to have success in our lives? We find the answer in this verse:
1. This verse tells us that the key to success is having God with us.
Lord, help us to clearly understand your purpose, and then help us to do your will in our lives. We don’t want to do anything that you do not support.
2. In the next passage, we learn that when God gives us success, others notice.
When God gives you success, it will cause some to be jealous. However, others will favor you. Joseph’s brothers envied him, but an Egyptian captain who wasn’t his family, put him in charge of everything he had because he realized God was with Joseph.
Potiphar noticed this and realized that the Lord was with Joseph, giving him success in everything he did. This pleased Potiphar, so he soon made Joseph his personal attendant. He put him in charge of his entire household and everything he owned. (Genesis 39:3-4 NLT)
3. When God is with you, others are blessed because you are blessed.
We were called to be contributors, not destroyers. We are blessed so we can be a blessing to others. It is better to be in a place of giving rather than receiving. Joseph clearly understood these principles. God blessed him, and he was of great blessing to his family, master, and furthermore an entire nation.
From the day Joseph was put in charge of his master’s household and property, the Lord began to bless Potiphar’s household for Joseph’s sake. All his household affairs ran smoothly, and his crops and livestock flourished. (Genesis 39:5 NLT)
God was always with Joseph, because despite the adversity and trials he went through, he remained faithful to God, he kept his faith and holiness. Therefore, he was successful wherever he went.

What areas do you need to be successful in?
