A good mentor

A GOOD MENTOR

Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever. (Deuteronomy 34:7 NLT).

Moses was a man of prayer, fearful of God, service oriented, humble, and a great mentor with much love for people. He would also see God face to face. All of these characteristics provoked the following:

1. Moses was strong in his old age, and he didn’t die due to any sickness.

Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever. (Deuteronomy 34:7 NLT).

2. He was dearly missed. A good mentor not only be remembered, but dearly missed.

The people of Israel mourned for Moses on the plains of Moab for thirty days, until the customary period of mourning was over. (Deuteronomy 34:8 NLT)

3. Moses was a good mentor and left a legacy.

Now Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. So the people of Israel obeyed him, doing just as the Lord had commanded Moses. (Deuteronomy 34:9 NLT)

We are all mentors to someone. Let’s make sure that we are exemplary mentors and impart to others everything God has given us so we can leave a legacy of blessing to many Joshuas.

Think about it:

If you died today, what things would be remembered or missed from you?

What are you doing or will you do to leave behind a legacy of blessing?

To whom are you imparting everything God has given you?
