A PERSON WITH A CALLING MAKES A WAY
Joshua replied, “If there are so many of you, and if the hill country of Ephraim is not large enough for you, clear out land for yourselves in the forest where the Perizzites and Rephaites live.” (Joshua 17:15 NLT)
IF YOU HAVE A CALLING, SHOW IT BY WORKING AND TRIUMPHING, OPENING WAYS WHERE THERE WEREN’T ANY.
If someone has a calling, they should demonstrate it by making ways where there weren’t any, not by dividing churches or disciples.
One should work for what they want. Joshua told them: “if you want more territory, work and clear out the forest land. Kick out your enemies and clear out the area.” In other words, we cannot receive all the blessings on a golden platter by merely sitting there with our arms crossed.
God doesn’t bless those who are lazy and idle.
Many people envy the success of businesse people instead of working as hard as they do. Some marriages want success in the family, but they are not willing to invest or work as much as healthy marriages do. Others long to have a rapidly growing church or ministry like Eagles CFC, or a healthy and large HOP or discipleship, but they are not willing to pay the price and work like we do. We evangelize while others are vacationing, pray while others sleep, work while others mess around.
Then Joshua said to the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, the descendants of Joseph, “Since you are so large and strong, you will be given more than one portion. The forests of the hill country will be yours as well. Clear as much of the land as you wish, and take possession of its farthest corners. And you will drive out the Canaanites from the valleys, too, even though they are strong and have iron chariots. (Joshua 17:17-18 NLT)
Lord, give me your wisdom and grace to continue clearing and conquering spiritual, emotional, family, social, and financial territories that you want me to keep growing in. I don’t want to be considered lazy, idle, casual, or mediocre. I want to do your will to fulfill your purposes while I am on this earth.
Think about it:
What has God called you for?
What things do you need to work on to achieve success in your calling?
What areas of your life have you not seen success in and need to work on?
