Be careful not to fall

BE CAREFUL NOT TO FALL

If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.  The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. (1 Corinthians 10: 12-13 NLT)

We all face different types of temptations in life. Though we may think we’re standing firm in God, we must be cautious not to fall into temptation. Sin brings consequences that not only affect us, but our family. Thanks be to God that He will always provide us a way to resist.

How can we prevent from falling into sin?

1. Humility. We must be aware that we are all susceptible to temptation. He who thinks that he’s standing firm, be careful not to fall.

2. You must decide in advance. Ex: Adultery and fornication should not be an option for you. Decide to be faithful. Decide not to steal or lie. Etc.

3. Set limits. Do not get involved in compromising situations. Ex: Don’t be in the dark with someone. Don’t flirt on social networks with your ex. Don’t play with fire.

4. Surround yourself with a small group. Attend a house of peace or a small group in your church. This will help you stay focused and firm.

If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.  (1 Corinthians 10:12 NLT)

Think about it:

Are you aware that you must take care of yourself, so you do not to fall into sin?
What things do you need to establish or decide in advance to protect yourself from temptation?
In what areas do you need to set limits in order to not play with fire?
What kind of people have you surrounded yourself with?
