HOW DO YOU ACT UNDER PRESSURE?
your strength is too small. (Proverbs 24:10 NLT)
How we react under pressure determines our maturity and success. It will show if we are weak or strong.
We will, without a doubt, be under pressure during some intense conversations, but our reaction will determine the success or failure of a marriage, healing or loss of a friend, promotions or firing at a job, maturity or mediocrity, and success or failure.
We will, without a doubt, find ourselves under the pressure of temptation. What will we do when the opportunity to have sex out of our marriage arises? Of drinking alcohol and doing drugs again, of stealing and deceiving, of contributing to gossip, of violently exploding during a heated discussion? Will we fail under pressure, or will we stand upright?
A weak person yells and shouts under pressure, but the strong answer with a gentle response (Proverbs 15:1). The weak explode in rage, but the strong maintain self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). A weak person gets drunk and fights under pressure, but a strong person prays and lets God fight for him (Jehoshaphat). The weak feel resentment and bitterness, but the strong remain in love, joy, peace, patience, faith, etc (Galatians 5:23-24). The weak fail under pressure daily, but the wise are strong and have success in life.
Think about it:
How do you react under pressure?
Have you ever lost something by acting wrongly under pressure?
In what way do you think coming to God in prayer when you’re under pressure can help you?
