To serve people is to serve God

TO SERVE PEOPLE IS TO SERVE GOD

“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?  When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’  “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ (Matthew 25:37-40 NLT)

In what way do we serve God? We serve God by serving people.

There is no way to serve God personally, but we serve Him when we serve people. Human beings are made in the image of God. People are what God loves the most. When we serve people and His church, we are serving God.

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. (Col. 3:23 NLT)

So, let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. (Gal 6: 9-10 NLT)

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’” (Matthew 25:40 NTV)

Think about it:

In what ways are you serving God?
Do you know someone who is experiencing any kind of need?
In what way do you think you could begin serving God?
