GOD AFFIRMS US IN OUR CALLING
Then he brought each family of the tribe of Benjamin before the Lord, and the family of the Matrites was chosen. And finally Saul son of Kish was chosen from among them. But when they looked for him, he had disappeared! So they asked the Lord, “Where is he?” And the Lord replied, “He is hiding among the baggage.” (1 Samuel 10:21-22 NLT).Then he brought each family of the tribe of Benjamin before the Lord, and the family of the Matrites was chosen. I have sometimes felt insecurity and doubt my capability to carry forward the ministry, but God reaffirms me every time I feel weak. He reminds me that He has anointed me, and that it is not with my own strengths but with the Holy Spirit.
Saul had tried to hide from God’s calling, but the Lord revealed where he was and called for him.
In the same way, it doesn’t matter where we try to hide, He knows where we are and takes us out of our hiding in self-pity, depression, complaints, disappointment, etc.
…. Finally Saul son of Kish was chosen from among them. But when they looked for him, he had disappeared! So they asked the Lord, “Where is he?” And the Lord replied, “He is hiding among the baggage.” (1 Samuel 10:21-22 NLT).
When we feel like abandoning our purpose, we should remember that God is the one who called us and anointed us, and that He will give us the grace to complete the work He has started in us. (Philipians 1:6)
Then Samuel took a flask of olive oil and poured it over Saul’s head. He kissed Saul and said, “I am doing this because the Lord has appointed you to be the ruler over Israel, his special possession. (1 Samuel 10:1 NLT).
Think about it:
Have you tried to hide from God’s calling? Have you felt insecure in your ability to do what God has entrusted you with? What difference will it make in your life knowing that God will help you fulfill your assignment on this Earth?
