How to confront disillusion

HOW TO CONFRONT DISILLUSION

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. (Proverbs 13:12 NLT)
.

Disillusion is the loss of hope, wishes or illusions. It is disappointment, deception, feelings a person gets when their expectations are not fulfilled, feelings of sadness when someone has violated the trust you gave them, etc.

Hope that is not fulfilled turns into torment for a person and torment in the heart can bring about sickness, both emotional and physical. It all begins with deception.

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. (Ephesians 6:16 NLT).

The Devil wants to light up our life by sending flaming arrows, and one of those arrows is disillusion. Someone is going to fail you, it is inevitable and the devil wants you to become emotionally unstable.

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. (John 10:10 NLT).

While the Devil wants to destroy us through disillusion, he wants to waste our energy and make us irrelevant in this world to bring death to our lives, dreams, faith, purpose, etc. But, Jesus came to give us life and left us his peace so our hearts won’t be disturbed. We should learn to confront disillusions and say, “I will not let you rob me of my purpose.”

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
(John 14:27 NLT).

Think about it:

Have you placed expectations on something or someone?
Have you let disillusion kill your dreams, faith, and health?
Have you fixed your sight on Jesus so that when disillusion comes, your dreams or purpose don’t die?
