HOW TO OVERCOME DISILLUSION
while I am here in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13 NLT)
1. Discover the root of the disillusion. Where did you place a false expectation? Why do you feel disillusioned? What unreal expectations have you placed on people? Have you los tan important friendship? Have you been disillusioned by your spouse? Have you lost your job or scholarship? Have they disillusioned you at church? What has you feeling disillusioned? You need to confront the truth.. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
2. Be sorry for creating such false expectations. You cannot place false expectations on anybody, because no one will fill your needs like God can. Only God can fill the empty spaced in your heart. Your husband is not God. Your identity needs to be based on God because if not, you will live your life frustrated and will have battles at home all the time. The church is not perfect, people in church aren’t perfect, etc. The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. (Psalm 23:1)
3. We must free ourselves and close the doors to evil spirits. We must resist the devil. “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 NLT). Cast out all evil spirit from your life.
4. Affirm yourself in God’s goodness. It is so important to affirm yourself in God’s truth. Your foundation should be on God’s true love, on his goodness. How can you blame God for what’s happening to you? You can’t blame Him for doing something bad to you. Even though there are people who disillusioned you, God has never left you or failed you, and he will never do anything bad to you. He always has good plans for your life. Disillusion is unfulfilled hope, but place your hope in God, have courage, encouragement, and affirm yourself in His goodness.

Think about it:
What is the root of your disillusion?
Who had you placed expectations on?
Is your foundation and hope in God?
