Why do I stress so much?

WHY DO I STRESS SO MUCH?

The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? (Psalm 27:1 NLT).

There are days on which my stress level is higher than others. There are occasions where life’s problems and challenges cause some anxiety that day, and pending projects cause anxiety all week, but I have found that one of the ways to rest is meditating on this Scripture during the first few minutes of my day.
Why do such temporary things worry me? Why are will filled with anxiety so easily?

1. Meditate on God.

… The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? (Psalms 27:1b)

2. Practice joy.

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. (Phil. 4:4-5 NLT)
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. (Filip. 4:6 NTV)

3. Be brave and courageous.

Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. (Psalms 27:14 NLT)
Live happily and don’t add unnecessary stress.  God has control of everything. Trust in Him and He will do it. (Psalms 37:5)

The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? (Psalms 27:1 NLT).

Think about it:

What is causing you stress and anxiety?
Are you seeking God in prayer to place your burdens on Him?
How many blessings has God given you for which you are grateful?
