Do what you just said

DO WHAT YOU JUST SAID

But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son. (1 Kings 17:13 NLT)

I imagine this poor widow was praying to God for help because she didn’t have resources, when suddenly God sent a prophet to help her.

Here we have three things that the woman had to do before seeing her prayer answered. There are steps to take before seeing our miracle happen in our lives:

1.- Don’t be afraid.

Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid.” …  (1 Kings 17:13 NIV)

Fear paralyzes us, nulls our faith and impedes us from seeing our big dreams and achieving great projects. The antidote to fear is in 2 Timothy 1:7.

2.- Move forward. (action, persistence)

But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead… (1 Kings 17:13 NLT)

Once we know what God’s vision is, then we must control our fears and walk by faith, moving ahead and persisting on the projects God has given us.

3.- Act. Do what you said you would do.

But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said… (1 Kings 17:13 NLT)

We must activate our faith with actions. Some people only have good wishes and speak nicely of what they plan to do, but never implement what they know they should do to have success.

People who have success don’t delay what they need to do. They don’t say, “I’ll start to learn english next week; I’ll start assisting church or House of Peace next month.” Faith is activated with action.

The widow did these three things the prophet had told her, and the miracle happened. Instead of her and her son dying of hunger, they lived with abundance for a long time.

But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son. (1 Kings 17:13 NLT)

Think about it:

What miracle are you waiting on from God?

What had you stopped doing or dreaming out of fear? What steps do you need to take to move ahead until you see your miracle?
