RUN WITH PATIENCE
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1 NLT).
After ridding yourself of all weight and sin that wouldn’t let you advance, what else can you do to run to success?
- Run with patience. God is interested in developing patience in us, and it is in those moments of tribulation that we learn to wait on the Lord, so that we can receive the wisdom of God, the response we need. When we find ourselves in trials and tribulations, we should try to be happy in knowing that God is forming our character and developing the fruit of the Spirit that is patience.
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. “ (Romans 5:3 NLT)
- Don’t lose sight of Jesus.. The key to running the race of life without growing tired is to not lose sight of the Lord at any time. Problems tire us out, but the Lord invites us to come to Him when we are tired and overworked, because He will bring rest to our lives.
Then Jesus said:
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.(Matthew 11:28 NLT)
If you are tired because of the problems in your marriage, or with your children, if you are in depression because of economic problems, tired of a sickness, fighting and not seeing results, etc. Christ wants to take off your burden and give you rest. Surrender all tiredness to Him, get up and continue persevering in this race of life, because He will give you strength to accomplish it.
…And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1 NLT).
Think about it:
How have you been running the race of life?
What problems have detained you from moving forward?
How long before you surrender your burdens to God so He can give you rest and you can continue to run the race?
