Confidence or insecurity?

CONFIDENCE OR INSECURITY?

…David and Samuel the seer had appointed their ancestors because they were reliable men. (1 Chronicles 9:22 NLT)

I remember some talks I would have as a child, when people would mention a family that lived around the corner and everyone knew them as a bad family. I would hear expressions like, “Keep your distance from them, they are in bad things, they are a family of murderers, don’t trust them.”

This was that family’s reputation. No one trusted them. All us families form a reputation where we live. Some are known as friendly, hard-working, studious, as good Christians or businesspeople. Others are known as thieves, liars, lazy and don’t like to work. Some families form a reputation of trust and others of distrust.

My point today is that we are either forming a good or bad reputation for our next generations. When people talk about our children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren, they will say, “Oh yes, they come from the Jimenez, or Smith, or Perez etc. family.

Will they refer to them as descendants of a family with a good reputation or bad?

These men were known as coming from a family with a good reputation and King David’s government called them to care for the temple and the treasured stored there. (Verse 26).

…David and Samuel the seer had appointed their ancestors because they were reliable men. (1 Chronicles 9:22 NLT)

As of now, let’s live in a way that forms a good reputation for the family and that there are open doors for our children and grandchildren.
You form the trust for your future generations. Think about it!

Think about it:

What do other people say about you?
What will be said of your family in 20 or 40 years?
Will our families’ reputation open doors or close doors for our children?
