GOD HAS WANTED TO GUIDE US SINCE CHILDHOOD
and I called my son out of Egypt.” (Hosea 11:1 NLT)
This verse speaks of history, where God always wanted to guide the nation of Israel, but they always distanced themselves from Him. We can now apply this to reality, and sadly this story repeats itself.
1. God has wanted to guide us since we were children.
By obeying Him, we could have avoided problems and be led to success. But we did not want to do it that way.
2. Us human beings frequently distance ourselves from God and want to do things our own way.
For my people are determined to desert me. They call me the Most High, but they don’t truly honor me. (Hosea 11:7 NLT)
3. God continues to show his love to us.
I led Israel along with my ropes of kindness and love. I lifted the yoke from his neck, and I myself stooped to feed him. (Hosea 11:4)
“Oh, how can I give you up, Israel? How can I let you go?
How can I destroy you like Admah or demolish you like Zeboiim?
My heart is torn within me, and my compassion overflows. (Hosea 11:8 NLT)
Think about it:
Has God ever tried to guide you in life, and you haven’t let yourself?
Are you aware that He is who takes care of us and protects us?
In what ways can you return God’s love back to Him?
