God of consolation

GOD OF CONSOLATION

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.…. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT)

1. God is a God of consolation. If you are going through tribulations, if you are going through something beyond your strengths, remember that God is a God of consolation and suddenly, those circumstances that you couldn’t control are for you to not trust in yourself, but to trust in God supernatural. He is who can do all things, move the hearts of kings, heal your sickness when you bend your knees and pray, and begins to move the heavens when you cry out for your need. There is promise in His Word and you say (Matthew 6:33): “If I seek your kingdom and righteousness first, you will give me everything I need.”

2. God consoles us in all our tribulations, not just some
. If you have little tribulations, God is your shepherd and He consoles you. But if you have many tribulations and abundance of problems, the good news is that we have a God who has abundant consolation for you.
For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. (2 Corinthians 1:5 NLT)

Swamps will sink you, but the rock that is Christ will keep you firm, and when tribulations and strong winds come that are beyond your strength, He will tell you, “I sustain you. I have you in the palm of my hand, you are in my hands and no one can take you from there.” (John 10:28-29)

Think about it:

Are you needing God’s consolation?
What situation have you experimented with God’s consolation in the past?
Have you cried out for God’s help in the midst of tribulations?
