His dynasty came to an end

HIS DYNASTY CAME TO AN END

… o Saul and his three sons died there together, bringing his dynasty to an end.  (1 Chronicles 10:6 NLT)

Why couldn’t Saul leave a successful family legacy, if God had said that they would reign forever? Why did his dynasty suddenly come to an end? What had happened to the promises of God?

God’s promises are always subject to the obedience of those to receive the promises.

Saul’s dynasty abruptly came to an end when he and his three sons died out of disobedience and rebellion. It wasn’t because God was throwing a fit or regretted anything.

It was because Saul’s attitude aborted the plans God had for him.
Many times, us human beings waste brilliant futures that we have ahead of us with our bad attitudes.

It’s necessary for us to guard our hearts, emotions, and habits to see God’s promises fulfilled in our lives.

I have seen people, young and old, men and women who begin a project in their marriage, church, business, or school and they suddenly lose it due to a bad attitude and bad decisions they made. All the effort they had put into it was wasted. All the work that was invested in it meant nothing. God’s promises are nulled by three things: disobedience, rebellion, and pride.

I have seen Christians who I see have a very bright future in the ministry, but because of their uncontrolled emotions and attitudes of rebellion and disobedience, God cannot continue to use them, and these people destroy their dreams. They abruptly end their legacy just like Saul.

The reasons why? I’ll let the following verse explain:

So Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord. He failed to obey the Lord’s command, and he even consulted a medium  instead of asking the Lord for guidance. So the Lord killed him and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse. (1 Chronicles 10:13-14 NLT)

Remember: The Promise of blessing is subject to the obedience of the one who is to receive it.

Think about it:

What promises are you waiting on from God?
Do you follow instructions?
Have you allowed your emotions to control you?
