How to strip off our ego

HOW TO STRIP OFF OUR EGO

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3 NLT)

Egoism is known as the attitude of he who shows an excessive self-love and is solely occupied with that which is for their own benefit and interest without thinking about the needs of others.

Egoism is an attitude that makes relationships with others difficult, because an egotistical person tries to make others feel like they don’t exist, or if their ideas and worries didn’t matter.

The majority of people have had certain times when they had egotistical attitudes, but in His Word, God encourages us to not be egotistical, rather to think of others.

Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others. (1 Corinthians 10:24 NLT)

How to strip off egoism?

  • Be sincere with God and ask Him to help you be more like Him. Pray and read the Bible every day.
  • Serve others every day. Serving keeps us humble.
  • Strip yourself off all burden every day. Of rage, resentment, sadness, etc. so that you don’t affect those around you.
  • Forgive every day. Offenses are inevitable, choose to forgive and live with peace.
  • Renew yourself like an Eagle every day. Let’s leave old ways of thinking and acting behind, let’s leave all pride to the side and let Christ completely reign over our hearts.

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3 NLT)

Think about it:

When it comes to making decisions, do you consider others’ opinions?
In what ways do you think you can serve others daily?
In what area do you think you need to change and think of others?
