WHY DOES GOD BLESS US?
I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. (Genesis 12:2 NLT)
- God blesses us to be of blessing. The blessing is not only for us, but it is also for everyone else. Blessing was designed to multiply from generation to generation.
- God blesses us to prosper us. The Bible tells us that God wants us to be prosperous in everything, just as our soul prospers. (3 John 1:2). It is in God’s heart for us to be successful through his blessing.
- God blesses us to protect us. When we are obedient and fulfill God’s commands, then God keeps us from evil. For example, when we tithe, God takes care of rebuking the devourer (Malachi 3:11).
- God blesses us so we can be abundant. Just like children of a King, we should lack nothing. God is our provider and preserver of the harvest He gives us. (Prov. 10:22).
Think about it:
What blessings has God given you?
How can you be of blessing for someone this week?
Are you leaving a legacy of blessing to your future generations?
