GOD DOESN’T FEAR CRISES
Before crises, we become intimidated and that is a natural reaction for human beings, to fear when we feel threatened by a situation that is out of our control.
Jesus took advantage of a moment of crisis to take the time to rest, while the disciples, who probably had lost control of the boat they were navigating, were afflicted, thinking they would die.
God has not given us a spirit of fear, rather of love and self-control. It’s not about lying down to sleep in the midst of crises, but God gives us the wisdom to come out of it and that helps us rest. That is why we can say:
Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. (Matthew 8:24 NLT)
Think about it:
How do you react before crises?
What can you learn from Jesus in this story?
What can you do to rest in God in the midst of crises?
