How can we maintain unity? II

HOW CAN WE MAINTAIN UNITY?
Part II

I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. (John 17:23 NLT)

Yesterday, we were speaking about two steps to achieve perfect unity as a team, whether it be in the family, work, church, etc. This is God’s desire for us and that will help us achieve what we alone cannot achieve. Today we will learn two more:

1. Speak the same language.

2. Be stable.

3. Have one, same objective. We cannot remain in unity if we don’t have a common objective, since a group that is divided does not prevail. This also applies to the family.
When there is unity in a group, we do not think about what we want to achieve as individuals but fight for the victory of the entire team. Just as it is in soccer, who makes the goal does not matter, rather winning, and that way the entire team wins.

4. Give God glory. The greatest danger that exists when we have a goal is to prioritize our own benefits in an egotistical way and not give glory to God.
If we want to have success in the family, church, studies, or business, it is important to give God glory. In this way, we will not get confused as those who united to attempt to build a tower to heaven, because they were not interested in lifting up God’s name, but their own.

In that way, the Lord scattered them all over the world, and they stopped building the city. That is why the city was called Babel, because that is where the Lord confused the people with different languages. In this way he scattered them all over the world. (Genesis 11:8-9 NLT)

Think about it:

What is your goal as a family?
What is your goal as a church?
Did you take God into account regarding the goals you want to achieve?
