There is hope in the midst of crises

THERE IS HOPE IN THE MIDST OF CRISES

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. (Psalm 40:1-3 NLT)

There are crises in our lives that we cannot avoid, and even if we don’t provoke them ourselves, they come to affect us. But, not everything is bad in a crisis because there are also benefits that, if we remain alert, can bless us. Crises help us look back on our lives and fix that which we didn’t realize were weak points in us. If we put our hope in God, He will place us on firm ground so that we do not fall.

God manifests in crises.

It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. (John 9:3 NLT)

Many times, we ask ourselves why God allows crises to affect not only the world, but also God’s children. The reason is very simple. God wants to use us as an example for others, to demonstrate His power in us.

The example we read in the Word is clear. The disciples were trying to find a reason behind the despair this man was experiencing. However, God knew that it was simply for His name to be exalted.

He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.  (Psalm 40:1-3 NLT)

Think about it:

What crisis are you confronting?
Do you think God can glorify Himself in the midst of your situation?
What benefits have you seen in the middle of a crisis in your life?
