When we feel strong

WHEN WE FEEL STRONG

But when Rehoboam was firmly established and strong, he abandoned the Law of the Lord, and all Israel followed him in this sin. (2 Chronicles 12:1 NLT)

When King Rehoboam felt that he was strong, he thought that he would be able to continue having success without God’s help.

Nowadays, the same thing happens with us human beings. For example, frequently, when a person achieves financial success, they become prideful, hard-hearted, and pretentious. They begin to spiral out of control in life and give in to their fleshly desires.

These people, drunk on their success, leave aside the idea that God is first in our lives. They make themselves into tiny gods for themselves, they begin to look for more women, more sex, power, and underappreciate the people that go to church and call them, “religious fanatics”, etc.

Today’s lesson is: We should not forget about God, no matter how much success we come to have in our finances, ministry, business, sports, etc.

We should never forget that we are who we are because God made us, and if we throw out who He made us to be, then we will not be able to continue being what He made us to be.

But when Rehoboam was firmly established and strong, he abandoned the Law of the Lord, and all Israel followed him in this sin. (2 Chronicles 12:1 NLT)

Think about it:

With everything you do, do you depend on God or your own intelligence and abilities?

Have you experienced the difference between taking God into consideration and not doing so?

What can you do to avoid abandoning God when you feel strong?
