Be more constant and patient

BE MORE CONSTANT AND PATIENT

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. (James 1:2-3 NLT)

Problems are tests that reveal our attitudes and values. They highlight our convictions and reveal what we are and what we believe. Example: Joseph the dreamer continued to dream even through the tests of his brothers throwing him in a ditch and selling him as a slave. Even through that, God continued to push him forward. (Genesis 37:23)

  • Difficulties produce constance. When someone falls and gets back up, they don’t arise the same. They get up stronger and more determined.
  • Don’t blame God for the situations you go through. Better yet, become constant by assisting church, praying and reading the Bible every day. Ask for that husband, that drug-addicted child. Become constant by praying for that healing miracle until God glorifies Himself.
  • Produce patience by waiting on God. Maybe you have waited for those immigration papers or a job, but the day will come when that door opens. Just be constant and patient.

Think about it:

What comes out of you in tests?
When you are confronting problems, do you see more of God or distance yourself from Him?
What has God worked for God in the test?
