In memory of her

IN MEMORY OF HER

I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the world, this woman’s deed will be remembered and discussed. (Mark 14:9 NLT)
THE BOOK OF LIFE IS NOT THE SAME AS THE BOOK OF MEMORIES

I am trying to remember by asking myself: When was the last time I did something sacrificial, something that was worthy of putting my name in the Book of Memories?

There is a Book of Life where my name is written and all those who have accepted Christ as their personal Savior. I don’t need to give anything nor do anything to be in this book. I simply have to accept Christ.

But there is another Book of Memories where the names are written of those who did extraordinary things, went the extra mile, sacrificed service and resources such as time, money, and energy, and did it with a good attitude, a generous attitude

In this Book of Memories, there aren’t the complainers who give with a bad attitude at the time of giving. Here are only those who give their best with pleasure and gratitude, voluntarily, and not forced. They are grateful and not complainers.

Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name. (Malachi. 3:16 NLT)

The stingy people criticized the woman that Mark 14:9 speaks about because she had given her the best perfume to Jesus, the most expensive one, instead of selling it for money.

But Jesus tells them that she will be remembered for many years because of her generous attitude.

But Jesus replied, “Leave her alone. Why criticize her for doing such a good thing to me? (Mark 14:6 NLT)
I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the world, this woman’s deed will be remembered and discussed. (Mark 14:9 NLT)

Think about it:

Is your name only written in the Book of Life, or is it also written in the Book of Memories?
When was the last time you had a generous and selfless attitude with someone?
Could it be that it’s time for you to do something sacrificial for someone else?
