WHAT HAPPENS IN A SMALL GROUP?
Jesus exemplifies the importance of the Houses of Peace and discipleship groups. Look what happens in a HOP or discipleship:
1. Friendship. Jesus not only fellowshipped in the temple, but he happily went to the house of his friend Peter. Having friends is important because we weren’t created to live isolated.
2. Mutual help. When we rely on a group of close friends it is easy to overcome life’s crises.
Someone told Jesus that Peter’s mother-in-law was sick and immediately asked to be taken with her to heal her.
Peter no longer had to spend on doctors or medicine because they helpedhimall together and Jesus healed her.
3. Gratitude and service. The mother-in-law was very grateful with everyone for coming to visit her home when she was sick. In response she began serving not only Jesus, but the people who walked with Him in his HOP.
It is healthy that we belong to a House of Peace or a Discipleship group. It is very healthy that in gratitude we serve Jesus by serving other people.
Think about it:
Are you part of a HOP or discipleship?
Of these three things, what have you found by belonging to a HOP or discipleship?
What miracle has God done in your life? How are you serving people in your HOP?
