IF YOU TAKE ME OUT OF THIS, I PROMISE YOU THAT…
I will come to your temple with burnt offering and fulfill my vows to you—
vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble. (Psalm 66:13-14 NIV)
vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble. (Psalm 66:13-14 NIV)
Help me, my God!
“I promise you, if you get me out of this, I’ll serve you for the rest of my life.”
Have you heard this phrase before?
When people are in serious trouble, that’s when we most remember God, and we cry out for help, making many promises to Him. The question is: When He does respond to our requests, do we fulfill what we promised?
When you make a vow to God, do not delay fulfilling it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.(Ecclesiastes 5:4-4 NIV)
The Psalmist was grateful to God for responding to his cry at the time of his difficulty, so he came with a sweet attitude to fulfill what he had promised him.
…but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me! (Psalm 66:19-20 NIV)
I will come to your temple with burnt offering and fulfill my vows to you—
vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble. (Psalm 66:13-14 NIV)

Think:
What did you say to God in the past that you would do?
What is in waiting for you to fulfill?
