Opportunities in the midst of trials

OPPORTUNITIES IN THE MIDST OF TRIALS

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. (James 1:2-3 NLT)

When we are children, we see a world full of opportunities and we can dream, but when we become adults, we lose the ability to dream and become like calculators, cold and without hope because of problems.

Those who have had a bad marriage tells young people who plan to get married “Don’t get married because it’ll be bad!” Those who have had unsuccessful businesses tells beginning businesspeople “Your business won’t prosper!” But, the reality is that we can all begin to dream again if we look at life with the right attitude. If you are going through problems or difficulties, don’t be discouraged, because God will give you new opportunities:

Opportunity to be more constant and patient.

Tests are like an exam that reveals our attitudes and values. It highlights our convictions, and reveals what we are and what we believe: Example, Joseph continued to dream even through the difficulties he went through at the bottom of a pit, and in prison, God prospered him and fulfilled his dreams later on.

Difficulties produce constance. When someone falls and gets back up, they don’t rise up the same. They rise up stronger and determined.

Don’t blame God for the situation you go through, rather, become constant by attending church, praying, reading your Bible every day, asking for that spouse or son or daughter that is in drugs. Become constant by praying for that healing miracle until God glorifies Himself in your life.

It produces patience to hope in God. Maybe you had been expecting a certain job, or that a legal case be resolved. Simply continue to pray, believing and hoping in God and the day will come where that door is opened. Just be constant and patient.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.  For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. (James 1:2-3 NLT)

Think about it:

What had you stopped dreaming due to your trials?
What attitude do you have when trials come?
In what area do you need to be more constant in order to see a breakthrough?
