The donkey-searching king

THE DONKEY-SEARCHING KING

One day Kish’s donkeys strayed away, and he told Saul, “Take a servant with you, and go look for the donkeys.” 4 So Saul took one of the servants and traveled through the hill country of Ephraim, the land of Shalishah, the Shaalim area, and the entire land of Benjamin, but they couldn’t find the donkeys anywhere. (1 Samuel 9:3-4 NLT)

God was looking for Saul to make him king, but he didn’t know that and was looking for his father’s donkeys. Maybe we don’t know what we are. We don’t know what God has seen in us.

What are you doing in life? Are you a king or a donkey-searcher?
God is looking for you to anoint you and for you to be a king, a priest in your city, since He wants to make us kings and priests.

If he had not found Prophet Samuel, Saul would have almost lost his blessing because he was looking for donkeys. He thought that his only purpose on this earth was what his father had told him. Sometimes we believe we’re not worth anything and have no purpose.

The donkeys represent the burdens and vanities of life. There are people that walk with many burdens, anxiety, depression, alone and bitter because they have not known Jesus. They have not accepted Him in their hearts. They have not realized that they are already kings.

God is looking for you to make you a king, to heal your heart, to bless you so you can be a blessing on this earth.

Then Samuel took a flask of olive oil and poured it over Saul’s head. He kissed Saul and said, “I am doing this because the Lord has appointed you to be the ruler over Israel, his special possession.Israel. (1 Samuel 10:1 NLT)

Think about it:

What are you doing in life?
Are you doing God’s purpose, or have you let others define you?
What burdens do you need to let go of?
