Overcome fears and receive God’s blessings

OVERCOME FEARS AND RECEIVE GOD’S BLESSINGS

As soon as the Israelite army saw him, they began to run away in fright. (1 Samuel 17:24 NLT)

1.- Fear of the unknown. These men had never seen someone defeat such a giant, that’s why they feared Goliath. In life, we get paralyzed with fear and sometimes there are people who won’t risk getting a better job because of fear of the unknown. People who miss out on a blessed life out of fear of getting close to church, so instead they go to a psychic to try to know their future (the unknown). But, out future is in the Word of God.

2.- Fear of death. No one wanted to confront Goliath. We will all die sooner or later. “And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment,” (Hebreos 9:27)

Why will we live in fear waiting for that day? Just as Apostle Paul said: For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.”. (Philippians 1:21 NLT)
If we have Christ in our hearts, we already know that we will go to the presence of the Lord and there will be no more pain nor sickness. But, anyone who does not have Christ should fear death.

3.- Fear of man. Fear of the opinions of others, criticism, what others will say, and that’s why they don’t accept Christ. David was criticized, even by his brother when he wanted to do something great and fight Goliath.

But when David’s oldest brother, Eliab, heard David talking to the men, he was angry. “What are you doing around here anyway?” he demanded. “What about those few sheep you’re supposed to be taking care of? I know about your pride and deceit. You just want to see the battle!”. (1 Samuel 17:28 NLT)

To be continued:

Think about it:
Which of these three fears do you need to overcome?
Have you let good opportunities pass you by because of fear?
How important is the opinion of others to you?
