Why do people leave things halfway? part 2

WHY DO PEOPLE LEAVE THINGS HALFWAY?

Part 2

Finishing is better than starting... (Ecclesiastes 7:8 NLT)

Yesterday we learned six things about why people leave things halfway and today we will learn another six. Because how this verse says finishing is better than starting. We should not leave things halfway, we should not leave marriages halfway, studies halfway, projects or goals halfway, etc.

Why do people leave things halfway?

  • Disappointments. Someone fails them and they throw the towel. You need to know that no matter who fails you, God will not fail you.
  • Emotional Stress. They don’t want to continue fighting.
  • Because of tiredness, and exhaustion. They get full of activities; they get tired and they abandon.
  • Because of sin. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us… (Heb. 12:1 NLT)
  • Because of the lack of faith. There is no clarity on what they want.

6.The lack of purpose.  Due to the lack of purpose in their spiritual life they stay halfway. They leave family halfway, ministers that leave things halfway. Some have considered leaving marriage halfway, the career, service, etc. But this year we must say: “What I start I must finish”. So, we can say like Apostle Paul:

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. (2 Timothy 4:7 NLT)

Think about it:

When have you thrown in the towel because of disappointments?

What were you considering leaving halfway?

Which of these points is what has been an obstacle for you to complete what you have started?
