Why do people leave things halfway?

WHY DO PEOPLE LEAVE THINGS HALFWAY?

Finishing is better than starting... (Ecclesiastes 7:8 NLT)

Yesterday we learned that it is very easy to begin something, but it is difficult to finish something well. The important thing is to not start something, but to finish it. What assignment did God give you? What projects and goals have you had?

Why do people leave things halfway? We will learn six things today and another six tomorrow.

  • Because of fear. Because of fear they abandon Projects. Some are even afraid to get married.
  • Excuses. “It’s because I’m Young” “It’s because the devil put that woman in front of me”, “I can’t learn another language because…” like the paralytic that would say: “I have no one to take me inside”.
  • Distractions. The desires of the flesh: Sex, love and money leading some to leaving their service to God halfway, because of temptations.
  • Because of laziness. Not learning another language because of laziness. They begin to exercise but then laziness comes, they place goals to go to church every Sunday and then do not follow through, they have the goal to finish their career with good grades and then laziness comes.

Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper. (Prov. 13:4 NLT)

  • Because of lack of discipline.  Discipline is needed to have success.
  • Criticism. Thy get discouraged because of others criticism.
Finishing is better than starting... (Ecclesiastes 7:8 NLT)

Think about it:

What fears do you need to leave aside to complete what you started?
What distractions do you need to eliminate to focus on finishing what is important?
What do you think is the main reason of why you don’t finish what you start?
