SUCCESS WITHOUT CHARACTER IS NOT BENEFICIAL
- Success is not for fools.
- Don’t place fools in positions of influence.
- It is dangerous for an immature person to be placed in positions of influence and honor.
A while ago I was reflecting on how many people in the artistic world have reached success that have derailed and threw their lives away with alcohol, drugs, sexual relations outside of marriage, they destroyed their families, their emotional health, etc.
Success without maturity of character intoxicates the human being.
Lord, I think I still haven’t seen what you can do with a person who fully surrenders to you.
Lord, I don’t think I am ready to see all that you desire to give me and use me.
Give me your grace to have a character and heart according to your heart.
Don’t give me anything that takes me away from you, nothing that makes me betray you and turn my back on you, nothing that my character isn’t mature enough to assimilate healthily.
Think about it:
Have you lost something or has success or a position of influence derailed you from your purpose?
Have you seen people get lost due to success?
Do you think you’ve built enough character to not let success affect you?
What is more important to you, your relationship with God or having success?
