When we suffer without having fault

WHEN WE SUFFER WITHOUT HAVING FAULT

“What have I done?” he exclaimed. “What is my crime? How have I offended your father that he is so determined to kill me?” (1 Samuel 20:1 NLT)

Sometimes we feel that we are attacked or that we suffer unfairly.
Sometimes we pay the consequences of others’ mistakes and it makes us want to scream and ask: “What did I do to deserve this?”

“What have I done?” he exclaimed. “What is my crime? (1 Samuel 20:1 NLT)

The same thing happened to King David, but he never lost his faith, he was always sure that God was his foundation.

1. These are the moments that we have to hold onto our CONVICTIONS and not our EMOTIONS.

2. I must remember that my TRUST is completely in God.

I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me, “Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety! Psalms 11:1 NLT)

3. I must remember that revenge belongs to the Lord and rest in God’s RIGHTEOUSNESS.

The Lord examines both the righteous and the wicked.  He hates those who love violence. He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds. For the righteous Lord loves justice.   The virtuous will see his face. (Psalms 11:5-7 NLT)

Think about it:

How have you reacted when they attack you unfairly?
Have you let this destabilize your emotions or have you held firm to your convictions?
Have you allowed God to do justice or did you want to take revenge?
