WHEN YOU ARE STRESSED, WATCH WHAT YOU SAY
Part 2
I will hold my tongue when the ungodly are around me. (Psalms 39:1 NLT)
Many times, when we are with our unstable emotions due to a situation we are going through, we tend to talk too much, to say things without kindness, to offend or hurt, etc. Therefore, we must be careful not to sin with our words and ask the Holy Spirit for help to restrain our tongue.
Yesterday we learned that it’s not what we say, but how we say it, and today we learn the following advice:
Don’t keep frustration in your heart. Because that will poison you and rob you of your peace and it can cost you a job or a divorce, for example.
Learn to rest in God so that you can remove all frustration and fill yourself with His peace knowing that He is in control of all things.
I will hold my tongue when the ungodly are around me. (Psalms 39:1 NLT)
Think about it:
Are you one of those who keep things in and eventually explode?
What frustrations have you kept in your heart?
What frustrations or concerns do you need to bring to God?
