Power and ranks will one day be buried

POWER AND RANKS WILL ONE DAY BE BURIED

Your might and power were buried with you. The sound of the harp in your palace has ceased Now maggots are your sheet, and worms your blanket.’ (Isaiah 14:11 NLT)

We shouldn’t put our trust in the power we sometimes have, because it is temporary and one day we will be buried along with that power.

Human beings by nature tend to want to gain rank, positions of influence in the job, school, team, church, politics, etc.
Some believing that that will give them a better life, and others, unfortunately, want the power to abuse and exploit others.

Lord, help me be a good administrator with influence and allow me to have and use it for the benefit of others on this earth.

Lord, help me understand that all of this is temporary, unsure, and that one day this will all end up in the cemetery.
I choose to put my trust in you always.

In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles. For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need.  Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing. (Psalms 34:6-10)

Think about it:

Why do you wish to have influence?
Are you making good use of the power God has given you for the benefit of others?
Is your trust in your “power” or in God?
